2nd Arica Smart City: September 8, Arica, CL

Libelium is taking part in the second edition of the Arica Smart City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit, which will be held in Arica (Chile) on September 8th. Experts on business entrepreneurship and on smart cities technology will get together in an event aimed at colaborating to build up a smarter region by gathering community and knowldege.

David Gascón, CTO and cofounder of Libelium, will explain his experience as an entrepreneur and the company’s business model that has made it one of the world leaders in the field of the IoT. Employing about 60 people, Libelium exports its products to 90 countries and has a turnover of around five million euros. All this has been achieved in ten years, since David Gascón and Alicia Asín founded Libelium in 2006 as a university spin-off.

Sustainable energies, smart governing, smart cities, smart agriculture or innovation and new businesses are some of the areas the second Arica Smart City is dealing with. The event offers a wide range of parallel activities among which the first Hackaton is one of the most remarkable.

More than 600 people attended last year’s edition of Arica Smart City. There were fifteen seminars and 20 exhibitors took part in the Entrepreneurship Festival.
