From Libelium we propose the use of wireless sensor networks with Waspmote to prevent accidents and to verify the scale of emissions produced in the manufacturing process.
Sensor networks also help to improve the quality of the end product by controlling the parameters that influence it. In research labs, which require very precise conditions, having a network of Waspmote sensors represents a benefit that guarantees correct maintenance of the workplace. When these conditions change a warning message can be sent to help act in consequence.
We can also monitor certain parameters, to ensure the safety of industrial processes since Waspmote can take samples without requiring human presence, avoiding unnecessary risks. This means that radiation levels, can be determined to identify contaminated areas or those with a potential risk, helping to control them. In a wine cellar for example, carbon dioxide (CO2) levels can be monitored during fermentation sending an alert when they become too high.
