Q: Do you have a distributor in my country?
A: We are building a global network of distributors to provide reliable service in markets worldwide. Please check with our Sales Department regarding the distributor in your particular country, or if you are is interested in becoming a distributor. Q: May I distribute your products?

Q: Do you have any discount for Universities or Research Centers?
A: Waspmote was designed for developers and so our pricing policy. For that reason, Universities and Research Centers have the same prices as the rest of customers and any of them can benefit of volume discounts.

Q: May I know any example of project carried out by Libelium in a specific field?
A: You can find a lot of projects carried out with our technology in the section Libelium World/ Case Studies on our website.

Q: Will I have support from Libelium after buying your products?
A: Of course, we offer these three different kinds of support:

- On the Development Section you will find all the related information operation and programming of Waspmote, Meshlium and all the integration boards. There you will find a lot of tutorials, code samples and source code of libraries.

- We also count with a powerful and fast tool, Libelium’s Forum, where your questions will be answered by either one expert from Libelium or any other member of the Community who has already solved the issue before. This Forum is updated daily.

- Libelium offers special consulting hours packages that clients and users can purchase in order to have individual support for specific needs regarding their project. This allows the customer to have special consultancy, one-to-one contact with our engineers, to solve questions and get dedicated help.

Q: May I have an ad-hoc Waspmote or Sensor Board?
A: Libelium develops customized solutions for our clients. This service involves a preliminary one-hour meeting with our Project Manager for requirements gathering and analisys, and the ellaboration of a proposal.

Project Analisys Service = €250.- Eur.
Engineering Development Service = To be determined.

Q: Does Waspmote have any certification?
A: Waspmote is certified (radio + electronics) for US (FCC), Europe (CE) and Canada (IC). This makes the platform suitable for deployments in different scenarios like cities, factories, homes, etc. worldwide.

Q: Is it possible the communication between different communication protocols?
A: No, it isn’t. Each communication protocol has its own features so it can only communicate in the same language.

Q: May I have two different radios at the same time?
A: Yes, you can. Waspmote may have two radios at the same time connected when using the Expansion Radio Board allowing the creation of bridges among different networks such as ZigBee and Wifi, Wifi and 3G/GPRS, RFID and Bluetooth, etc.

Some of the applications that allows the Expansion Radio Board are:

- Multifrequency ZigBee Sensor Networks (2.4GHz – 868/900MHz)

- Bluetooth – ZigBee hybrid networks

- NFC (RFID) applications + 3G/GPRS to the Cloud

- NFC (RFID) applications + Wifi to the Cloud

- ZigBee – Wifi hybrid networks

Q: My Xbees does not get the theoretic distance, why?
A: There might be some conditions that can reduce the transmission distance: presence of multiple buildings or obstacles, interior walls, adverse geographical topology, vegetation, extreme weather, etc.

For example, you could lose communication distance because of increased solar radiation during a season (this would be in “extreme weather”).

Q: I have technical questions, what can I do?
A: You should read the documentation and the examples thoroughly. Most of the possible questions are answered there.

Q: I did study the documentation and examples and I still have questions, what’s next?
A: Please go to the forum and use the search engine. It is highly probable that your question has already been solved for other user. Also, make sure you performed the testing explained on the Checklist post, where most common issues are solved.

Q: My question is not present in the forum, can you help me?
A: Sure! Just create a new post on the forum and explain your problem. Try to add all the needed information, tell the process your followed. What are the possible causes for that effect? Paste the code you are executing and the output you get. You may want to include screenshots or links.

Q: One of my devices stopped working, it seems to be broken. Can you repair it?
A: Certainly. First, we should check on the forum that it is really broken. If so, we can start an RMA (return merchandise authorization), which is the process to get your items repaired at Libelium. If our engineers detect hardware problems on the forum, they will send you to the RMA web form and when you fill it, you will get clear instructions.

Q: When is an RMA covered by the warranty?
A: The customer must follow the RMA process and wait for an RMA number authorization. The customer always pays for the shipping to Libelium. If the material was purchased one year ago is suitable to be covered by the warranty and in this case the rest of costs in the operation are payed by Libelium. If the material was damaged by bad usage, if there is not a failure, or if the RMA process was not respected, then this RMA is not in warranty and all costs are covered by the customer.

Q: Does Libelium offer any support for programming Waspmote?
A: Libelium provides the possiblity of creating standard codes based on standard options for Plug & Sense!, according to the following form.

This service includes the creation of up to 3 different codes and the upload of them into 5 Plug & Sense! nodes. Additional codes can be requested on demand (+150 €). There is also a variable fee for the upload on additional nodes.

- Plug & Sense! Programming Service = €500.- Eur.

- Additional Nodes Upload Service = €20.- Eur. per node.
