Hi, I have a device configured as a Zigbee Router API, with firmware XBP24-ZB version 2341. Is it possible to send AT commands directly to the device (using X-CTU or hyperterminal) and how?

I thought that this could be done by typing '+++' to enter command mode but this doesn't seem to work (altough it did work when the device was configured as a Router AT).

Thanks in advance,
Elli

Hi Ellie,

If your XBee module is configured as Router API you can't enter command mode using '+++'. You only can enter command mode using firmware AT.

However you can change the parameters using X-CTU.

Best regards

Hi again, thanks a lot for the prompt answer! So if I change the firmware to AT can I still use the API library?

Also, should all the equipment have the same firmware? Our waspmote kit came with API firmware installed whereas the Zigbee module of meshlium came with AT firmware. Should their firmware match to achieve connectivity or it doesn't matter?

Best Regards,
Elli

If you change the firmware from API to AT, the libraries aren't going to work any more.

Meshlium's XBee module must have AT firmware to be able to use Manager System, so it is right, don't worry.

If the network is created and all the nodes are in the same network, you'll be able to communicate among all the nodes, including Meshlium, so don't worry about the firmware version (in this case).

Best regards
