Hi libelium-dev,

I have a number of waspmotes sending data to a meshlium. Each waspmote is connected to a battery as well as a solar panel to recharge the battery.

My Question is:

Assuming that it will be raining during the entire week and hence there is no sunshine to recharge the batteries, what is the best way to prevent the waspmotes from being shutdown? If they got shutdown, is the solar panel able to charge the battery and make the waspmote turn on again?

What sort of considerations I need to take into account to resole the issue?

Cheers
Amin

Hi Amin,

what are your motes exactly doing? Depending on the modules you use and the operation duty cycle implemented one week without power may deplete the battery. In this cases the best option is to monitor the battery level and when it falls bellow a given percentage, let's say 20%, put the mote to sleep, waking up periodically to check the battery level and not resuming normal tasks until a higher battery level, for example 40%, is achieved, which means the battery is getting charged again.

Regards.
