Well. I also tested this in the parking lot and it gave me about the same range. There were no obstructions, a hop test did work, but the range was about 100 ft or 30 m between each waspmote.

base station............... 30 m............. waspmote ................ 30 m................ waspmote

And we're using 5 dbi antennas. What do we do to increase the range and keep the current DigiMesh network running? Do you have any suggestions?

We're using XBee Pro 09 DPSIT

Is there a high powered mode for the XBee (that we're overlooking) that is only programmable by using X-CTU?

These antennas are the same antennas that came standard with the kit bought from Libelium.

Hi rbhatia,

that is not a normal range for the XBee PRO. At what height did you place the module? If it is just on the ground, range may be severely shortened, at a height of one meter and a half it will improve.

Also, there is a parameter (power level, PL) that fixes the maximum transmission power. It should be configured at 0 by default, and it is never modified, but try to check it anyway.

Regards.
