AmroQuandour and wzj_bj,

getHardwareAddress() method is responsible for getting module MAC.

The documentation says the getHardwareAddress() method appeared in API Level 9. Unfortunately for you, API Level 9 is supported by Android 2.3 onwards; it's not supported by Android 2.2.

This can be a little confusing, but is for sure that it works for newer android versions which uses API level 9 or above.

We will try to fix it for older versions.

Thanks for you patience.

Best Regards.

I test it on Motorola smartphone Android 2.3.7, which is the latest version among all android 2.3.X. However, it still can't get MAC address of waspmote board.

Note that Android 3.X is for tablet, so my Motorola smartphone can't upgrade to android 3.x. Which android OS version did your test for this demo?

wzj_bj,

Sorry for our delay, part of our department is on Holidays.

We think we tested this app with android 2.3.4 and it worked, but it seems that MAC bug is present with many devices.

It does not affect to main features of Wifi module, but we will fix it ASAP.

Regards.

I,

I've tried all the examples presented and that the module can not connect to Wifi.

Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

Hi filk,

one question, did you connect the WIFI module on the expansion board or in the XBee connector?

Regards.

Hi libelium-dev,

this problem was caused by the fact that the communication module force the switch of wireless communication.
The USB bus is the same as the communication WIFI modules, always wants to do a new programming, is necessary to remove the WiFi module and place then, which led him to leave.
This is an error of projecting WASPMOTE board.

I have outhers boards from libelium, but no have a problems.
I was disappointed with the WASPMOTE + WIFI 802.11.

Best regards

Hi libelium

I reported my problem via email but the response is very very slow.

My Wifi 802.11 module, is locked in the instruction: WIFI.ON (socket0);

The mudulo XBee is connected to the socket.

libelium sent by email to do the following:

connect the module to the Gateway, the Gateway and connect to a PC. Then run the serial / USB program, for example HyperTerminal for Windows or CuteCom / GTK-Term for Linux.
Then configure it at the module speed (9600 bps) and send the string "$ $" (without the "" and without carriage return, it is like the "+ + +" In other modules). You Should receive the string CMD When doing so, this is alright Demonstrate the module.

however never receive DCM.

Anyone know how to solve this problem?
