I would like to address groups of motes within clusters which I would
also like to define. So in other words there would be three star
topologies connected to coordinator which then sends commands to
each cluster such that the cluster receives the data as a multicast.

Has anyone any knowledge of this. I know that the API has an option
for setting the mode to CLUSTER rather than UNICAST or BROADCAST
but there is no indication anywhere how to address a cluster or even
how to do multicast transmissions.

Hi,

You can find an example in the XBee-ZB networking guide (page 35): http://www.libelium.com/documentation/waspmote/waspmote-zigbee-networking_guide.pdf
You address to the cluster you prefer using the parameters explained in this example. For more info about clusters in this protocol please check out the following link: http://ftp1.digi.com/support/documentation/90000976_H.pdf

Best regards

Thanks for responding. I noticed also the example in the libelium
documentation, what it does not explain is how the cluster is formed.

In other words if I had ten nodes connected to a router how do
I make them have the same cluster address? It is possible in AT
mode to set the CID but not in API mode
