Hello everyone.
My network consists of 4 nodes (Digimesh) that send messages to a gateway node (in broadcast). I wish the 4 nodes would send their data in different moments of time. I have some doubts about the synchronization of the network: how can I set the RTC so that the nodes send their messages at different times? Are the nodes already in sync? If I set an alarm (or a date) on a Waspmote node, the others are automatically synchronized? Thank you!

marek87,

Please take a look into RTC programming guide. You can program RTC easily to wake up each mote a different time to avoid packet collision.

Study different ways of programming RTC alarms. Also you can take a look into example codes of RTC provided with Waspmote IDE and also in Development section.

Best Regards.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm doing various tests according to the guide and examples. I still do not understand if I can set the same time (date,day,hour..) on all nodes of the network, so they are perfectly synchronized. Do you have any suggestions?

marek87,

If you do not want milliseconds precision, You can try this:

Upload a simple code in all of your Waspmote containing only RTC.setTime() function with same time.

Then turn on your Waspmotes at same time and all of them will be set with same time.

Now you can upload a new code (without setTime instruction) and RTC will save its previous time.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
