I was finally able to get the OTA to work. I did not have OTA code in my test application. Once I added the proper lines, OTA seems to work.

I do still have some issues. It appears that OTA comms are still not reliable. I can issue the following command:

otap -scan_nodes --mode UNICAST --mac 0013A20040769193

and sometimes it reports zero nodes found..and then other times I get the following:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Total Nodes: 1 - Time elapsed: 2s
0 - Node 0013a20040769193 - WASPMOTE00000001 - test001 - READY
----------------------------------------------------------------

also... when trying to upload the program, it reported the following:

------------------------------------------------------
Name: myapp.hex
Date: Fri Jul 06 22:13:45 EDT 2012
Size: 70132 bytes
Packets to send: 923
Estimated time: 276.9 seconds
------------------------------------------------------
Node: 0013a20040769193
[Sending] - 100% 807 seconds elapsed
Finished. Number of packets sent: 923
Node response: PROGRAM RECEIVED OK
---------------------------

As you can see, it estimated 276 seconds for the upload but actually took 807 seconds.

Also, the when I run the -get_boot_list command, it shows two programs with the same name, but there is only one on the SD card:

otap -get_boot_list --mac 0013A20040769193 --mode UNICAST

---------------------------------------------
Bootlist Node 0013a20040769193 - length: 2
0 - PID:test001 - Date:2012/07/06 22:13
1 - PID:test001 - Date:2012/07/06 22:13
---------------------------------------------

The otap -reset command works in MULTICAST mode but not in UNICAST mode.

It seems that I may have something misconfigured...but I can tell what it is.

Cryptik,

We see that you are able to send a program. When you obtain "PROGRAM RECEIVED OK" it means that the program is transmitted ok, that is for sure.

But if you transmit many times a program with same name, the system can become unresponsive. Please check your SD card and delete previous programs, or just change program name.

Regards

Dear all people related in original issue of this topic.

Waspmote IDE includes by default with its own tx/rx library.

However if you already have another rx/tx library inside Library/Java/Extensions/, it will be used by default by the JVM, and it does not have necessary modifications for using with Waspmote.

So, just delete corresponding file of rx/tx library (rxtx.jar or similar) inside Library/Java/Extensions/

Regards

Hi,

I am having this same error when trying to scan nodes using my macbook pro. I am running mac osx version 10.8.1.

I tried navigating to library/java/extensions but there are no files inside the directory.

What else could I do?

thanks,
jgusf

after a couple of hours of searching I found a solution.

I needed to do the following in the terminal

Quote:
$ sudo mkdir /var/lock
$ sudo chmod 777 /var/lock

Hope this works for anyone else that may run into this problem.
