I've recently acquired a Meshlium ZigBee-Mesh-GPRS-AP and 5 Waspmotes with ZigBee Pro S2 modules, and am experiencing difficulty setting up a wireless network. The Meshlium transceiver does not appear to have the correct "Zigbee" plugin under Sensor Networks when accessing the Manager System, only "802.15.4" and "Capturer" are available. I am receiving a network error when attempting to load a MAC address under 802.15.4.

Also, the transceiver wireless module does not appear to be responding via SSH client (ie. the command "+++" does not return an OK message).

Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Toast,

First, please check that both your Meshlium and Waspmotes have the same type of XBee. As you will know, ZigBee and 802.15.4 radios are based on the same protocols, but are 100% incompatible. We mean that a ZigBee XBee cannot talk to an 802.15.4 XBee, and the opposite is also impossible.

Could you take a screenshot of the Manager System in the Sensor Networks tab?

Could you also go to these files in Meshlium and let us know its content?
/mnt/lib/cfg/zigbee
/mnt/lib/cfg/initialConf

Best regards

Thank Lib Dev for your help. Please find attached in Link 1 are two screen shots of the
/mnt/lib/cfg/zigbee
/mnt/lib/cfg/initialConf

In Link 2 is a screenshot of the Meshlium Manager Sensor Networks interface.

Also, it might be of significance to note that the XBee modules were synced with another module now functioning in a gateway. We feel that this may have disrupted the factory presets, insight is much appreciated.

Cheers,
Toast

Hello Toast,

We can see now that you have the wrong setting, because you should see "ZigBee" in both links.

Fortunately, it is easy to fix: please open the Manager System and click the Presets button. Then select the 4th option, which includes ZigBee and GPRS. Now save, and then restart (in secure mode).

Next time you switch Meshlium on, it will recognize its inner XBee as ZigBee and not as 802.15.4.

Best regards

We loaded GPRS preset, saved the setting and have restarted in secure mode through an SSH client and still cannot see the ZigBee plugin.
