The XBee power can be turned ON/OFF through a digital pin. The digital pin maximum output current is 40mA. The XBee current consumption is 50mA and for XBee 868, it is 800mA. Does it mean that the XBee will receive only 40mA current max?

Dear ParaDecirAdios,

Xbee is powered directly by a power supply, not by a digital pin. This allow Xbee draws necessary current.

Regards!

i see, then why can XBee.ON() and XBee.OFF() control the power? Is there some additional circuit to allow this?

ParaDecirAdios,

As you guess, there are some switches to manage power control.

Libeium API manages these switches according used modules.

Kind regards!
