Libelium has reached an agreement with Loriot to launch the first IoT kit that includes LoRaWAN connectivity. The new kit, that can be bought at The IoT Marketplace, is available with American range (915 MHz) and European range (868 MHz).

The base station selected for this kit is the Multitech Conduit LoRa Gateway 3G Outdoors IP67&mLinux, with connectivity ready to work in Europe (868MHz) or in USA (915 MHz). Read more.

Only a ten per cent of 1,200 participants has been capable to finish the online educational program that Libelium opened to find the best Intenert of Things (IoT) developers. The contest results confirms that there is an important gap between the skills demanded by IoT companies and the practical knowledge of future developers.

The final battle has come to the end and only 120 IoT warriors have finished the program. “The exams were difficult but our aim was to discover the best prepared developers for future workforce on Internet of Things”, says Alicia Asín, Libelium CEO. Read more.

As requested by many of our clients we are adding new Ion Sensor Probes for the Plug & Sense! Smart Water Ions and the Sensor board (OEM version).

These new sensor probes are named as “PRO” as they offer a better calibration cycle (they keep calibrated more days than the current probes). The underlying technology is not based on liquid chemicals but in solid membranes made of nanotubes of carbon so they simple last more time with the right calibration that the regular probes. Libelium has designed a new Outdoor Power USB Cable which enables to connect a Waspmote Plug & Sense! Sensor Platform directly to electrical installations using a regular USB power adapter (110V / 220V). It can also be connected to a computer, a laptop or any similar device with USB ports.

One of the main advantages is that the Outdoor Power USB Cable is waterproof so, now Waspmote Plug & Sense! can receive continuous power electricity outdoors coming from the inside of the building. Until now, the only way of getting continuous power was using the solar panel that obviously had a lack of energy at night, now we can have Plug & Sense! powered 24/7 non-stop. Read more.
