Smart Water - Turbidity Sensor - Waspremote retuns -1000

Greetings

finally the Smart Water is connecting to the network ;
We tested all sensors and the "ph", "do" and "cond" are working fine.
The turbidity sensors seems not responding.
When I run the sample for the turbidity test I get

Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
Sensor detecting: -1000
 Sensor not detected !!!

I disconnected the sensor and I get exactly the same result.

In the documentation it is mentioned that default connection for the socket F
is the Soil/Water Temperature 9255-P (included by default) and also Turbidity 9353-P

Is there any code that needs to be set to switch the port or the default port setup is good for both sensors?
We are using a new turbidty sensor SN-PNEPB-1415 (smart water - Turbidity sensor)

Hi,

We have improved the Turbidity libraries to improve the operation of the sensor, please test the sensor with the attached file. You have to replace TurbiditySensor.cpp and TurbiditySensor.h inside libraries/SensorSW folder

Unfortunately I get the same issue.
Now... the whole system was packaged (Q4Water) by a company called Fulcrum Herabi to allow field deployment.

I noticed that differently from the standard connection the port A,B,C,E have been replaced by BNC connection.

Despite the F port is the same Fulcum made a patch connection to got fromt he port to the hard casing connector (Din)

I am in touch with the engeneer at Fulcrum but I would like to explore also with you if there is the reason to test the ports (cond , Turb) to assess that the sensors maybe be either not well connected or not working.

The solution is very valid and if successfully deploy will be the first of many units so it is good for Fulcrum and Libelium and us but we need to prove that it works.

Hello again,


I was browsing some of the solution and issue you resolved.
In particular one may be intersesting for my case:

Turbidiity can't read by Waspmote Pro 1.5 and Smart water v3

As a matter of fact the the ccp the

_sensorAddress = DEFAULT_ADDRESS;

I changed in the .h to debug and I get the following when executing the code:

The sensor will not be able to measure temperature but maybe it is not properly configured for the address. could that be the reason?

Hi,

Did you follow the steps we said in the topic you mention?
Now look for the modbus address of the turbidity sensor in the documents that we sent together with the sensor.

Finally, set the modbus address into the TurbiditySensor.h (line 72).

Is the modBUS = 40 the same for each sensors?
I noticed you got the value fromt he company producing the sensor.

test failed and gave the same -1000 as response.
Now I went to check the sensor producer website and found at the botton of the documentation the connection.

See http://www.aqualabo-group.com/probes

click on NTU sensor

I would need to know from you which of those connection are used and in which pin of the socket are supposed to be plugged in.
Once I know that I can check if the patch is mappingthe exact pin connection.


I think the problem maybe elecrical and not programming.

Hi,

You have to connect the turbidity sensor to socket F.

On the other hand, what API are you using? The current example doesn't print Sensor detecting: -1000

Could you post some photos of your devices?
