OTA Multihop not happening

Post by shahvicky » Tue Sep 27, 2016 9:44 pm

Hi,

I have been trying out the OTA feature of the waspmote using a meshlium. The DIRECT Access UNICAST method is working fine. I then try to send program to a waspmote1(not in Meshlium's range) through OTA using another waspmote2 which is in range of both the meshlium and the waspmote1 . But is is giving send error while Meshlium is trying t send the code to waspmote1.

Also I do not find any difference in the command for Direct Access and Multihop. How does the waspmote2 understand that it has to hop the program to waspmote1.

Can you explain me how the multihoping works for OTA using waspmote and Meshlium.

Hi,

Are you working with ZigBee or DigiMesh? What commands are you sending?

When you send the program to the device, you include the mac of the device (waspmote1) in the command. The send protocol search this mac through other devices (waspmote2). Internally, waspmote2 understands that have to send the program to waspmote1.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply :)

I am using XBEE 802.15.4 and trying to send using the below command :

Code: Select all

#./otap -send --file PROG001.hex --mac 0013a2004061097c --mode UNICAST --pid prog001

(where 0013a2004061097c is the waspmote 1 MAC)

Hi,

We are sorry but the protocols which work with OTA Multihop are ZigBee and DigiMesh, not Xbee802.

You can find all the information in Over the Air Programming Guide (OTAP)

Regards.
