IBM Bluemix connection with Meshlium

Post by jbPark » Thu Sep 01, 2016 9:04 am

Hi.

In the process of connecting to the Meshlium and IBM Bluemix, I read Meshlium to Watson IoT Platform Configuration Guide and some posts in this forum.

I set up Bluemix and Meshlium as the documents.

And then, I'm trying to connect IBM Bluemix with Meshlium as click the IBM Bluemix MQTT Start button, the state is RUNNING but sensor data are not transmitted.

I checked setup.ini file to ssh access meshlium, the set is properly.

And I ran the command : -tail -f /mnt/user/logs/bluemix_mqtt.log
some error are repeated. The results are as follows.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[ERROR] Failed to get info from https://(myBluemixID).internetofthigs.ibmcloud/com/api/v0002/device/types/MESHLIUM_DEV/devices. [cURL] 6: name lookup timed out
[ERROR] Failed to connect to the MQTT host. Revise your credentials.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think that the Internet is assigned an fine IP address, it is not working because maybe the address is assigned my school(static & public IP address).

If you have any idea for resolution about this problem, please remind me.

Thank you!

Regards.

Additionally, the devices MESHLIUM_DEV & MESHLIUM_GW are not displayed my bluemix web-page.

Thank you...

Hi jbPark,

Reviewing your conversation, we think the problem is related to a previous error appeared in the log. Maybe it has an error creating the devices MESHLIUM_DEV & MESHLIUM_GW.
We recommend you to start form scratch. To do that, you have to:
1. Stop the synchronization from the Manager System and delete the log content in /mnt/user/logs/bluemix_mqtt.log.
2. Delete the device types you have in IBM platform
3. Connect to your Meshlium using SSH and delete the following files in this directory /mnt/lib/cfg/bluemix_mqtt/ (if they exist): device_types.json, devices.json and gateway.json
4. Set the log output to debug mode, changing log_level value to 3 in /mnt/lib/cfg/bluemix_mqtt/setup.ini. (Remember to revert the change once you finished in order to avoid a huge log file).
5. Start the synchronization again.

Pay special attention to the log file generated in /mnt/user/logs/bluemix_mqtt.log. and try to paste all the errors displayed from the beginning.

Best regards,
