Meshlium Timezone Configuration

Post by kiranmahale » Mon Jun 25, 2018 6:44 pm

We have Meshlium V 3.0.8 as well as 4.

Not working:
3.0.8. : UTC Date stamp of local bluetooth data is NOT synced correctly to external DB. External DB always shows US/Eastern though local data timestamp is in UTC. Can you please let me know how to fix that. We tried restart multiple times.

Also Though external database "test connection" fails still it is writing into table.

Working:
3.0.8. : UTC Date stamp of local WIFI data is synced correctly to external DB
4.0.8 : UTC Date stamp of local wifi/bluetooth data are synced correctly to external DB

Hi,

Could you please share with us some screenshots of the manager system, Time synchronization section?

Hi,

So, timestamp of BLE data isn't sent in UTC but timestamp of WiFi data is send properly in UTC. Is it right? Are you talking about the same Meshlium v3?

Yes. Same device but different timestamp for wifi, bluetooth.

Note: The difference between 4.08, 3.08 BLE is the data structure of Bluetooth table

3.0.8:
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `bluetoothData` (
`ID_frame` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
`TimeStamp` timestamp NOT NULL default CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
`MAC` varchar(17) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`ID` text collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`RSSI` varchar(3) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`Vendor` text collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`cod` varchar(20) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (`ID_frame`)
) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;

4.0.8
CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `bluetoothData` (
`ID_frame` int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
`TimeStamp` timestamp NOT NULL default CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
`MAC` varchar(17) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`ID` varchar(30) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`RSSI` varchar(4) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`Vendor` varchar(150) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`cod` varchar(20) collate utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL,
`MeshliumID` varchar(150) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL default 'meshlium',
PRIMARY KEY (`ID_frame`)
) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci AUTO_INCREMENT=1 ;

Also The local Meshlium database show UTC timestamp but when it is synced to external DB it is Mysql DB server timestamp.

Local DB:
TimeStamp MAC ID RSSI CoD Vendor
2018-06-27 12:27:11 <mac> -69 Computer cyber-blue(HK)Ltd
2018-06-27 12:27:10 <mac> -88 Computer Mentor Engineering Inc
2018-06-27 12:26:44 <mac> -77 Computer ARRIS Group, Inc.

External DB:
TimeStamp MAC ID RSSI CoD Vendor
2018-06-27 08:27:11 <mac> -69 Computer cyber-blue(HK)Ltd
2018-06-27 08:27:10 <mac> -88 Computer Mentor Engineering Inc
2018-06-27 08:26:44 <mac> -77 Computer ARRIS Group, Inc.

Hi,

Maybe you have to configure the timestamp of you msql server. Please take a look at this link, especially to the commands SET GLOBAL time_zone = timezone; and SELECT @@global.time_zone, @@session.time_zone;

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.6/en ... pport.html

Hope this helps.

Setting session time will not work because then WIFI data would change.
What I am trying to explain is Same device(3.0.8) stores UTC data for WIFI but not for BLE. It is a bug on the device side.
4.0.8 device is working fine for both BLE and WIFI

Hi,

Is your Meshlium v3.0.8 or v3.2.8? If it is v3.0.8, please update Meshlium to the last version.

Regards
