I was talking abut the local database on the Meshilum , does it automatically delete old data once the storage becomes full?

Hi FIU Grad,

In WifiScan and BluetoothScan Local Database settings you can use Autopurge option.

In SensorNetwork > Capturer you can remove syncronized data in "Advanced" tab.

Hello,

A while ago I posted that the MySql Workbench was connected and working properly. However, I came to find out that mysql workbench doesn't save the data, the mysql server does. Mysql workbench is just a GUI interface just like phpmyadmin. So my main goal is to save the data on the external database server, where I see the data even when I lose connectivity to Meshlium. Currently I am facing the same problem as earlier, connecting the Meshlium to external database. I am getting error message "unable to connect to the server, check the fields; IP, port, user , password"
My external sql server is on my laptop with IP: 192.168.1.50 and the Meshlium currently directly connected with crossover cable to my laptop has IP: 192.168.1.100
Error message I am getting from Meshlium ; https://postimg.org/image/5hjwv00snv/
My Sql server connection is set up as such ; https://postimg.org/image/1idrrgfnmj/

I try pinging the server from SSH although I don't get a sustained ping it is evident that it is able to connect. Here is the result ; https://postimg.org/image/55xcqz7iaz/

My firewall is off and the sql server is the latest version.

Thanks,

Hi FIU Grad.

Could you paste the network configuration of your Meshlium and your laptop? Do they have the same netmask?

Yes they do. In fact I assigned my laptop a static IP within the subnet mask of the Meshlium.

Hi FIU Grad,

When you made the changes in Meshlium, did you restart it in order to make the changes effective? If not, try to do that because if not, the network configuration stills with no changes.

Are you sure about the cross-over wire? Check it and follow the instructions of the technical guide to connect Meshlium with your laptop using this kind of cable. http://www.libelium.com/downloads/docum ... _guide.pdf pages 18-19. You can also try to use a switch to connect your laptop with your Meshlium if it is possible.

Let us know your progress.

I didn't make any changes in the Meshlium. I used the Meshlium DHCP configuration to give my laptop static IP so they can be on the same network.
Yes I have the crossover cable that was provided with the Meshlium connected directly to my laptop from the PoE injector's LAN input.
I don't have a switch that I can use. From the ping picture I provided, the Meshlium is reaching 192.168.1.50 ( which is my laptop ip) right?

Any suggestion ? We think it is definitely a network problem since it is not pinging the laptop IP

I have a crossover cable from my laptop to LAN port (PoE injector), Ethernet cable from PoE to Meshlium.
I am currently accessing the internet through the university wifi.
I have MySQL server downloaded on the laptop.
My laptop configuration is as follow:
IP: 192.168.1.50
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway : 192.168.1.1
DNS server: 8.8.8.8

Meshlium configuration is = DHCP (default)
IP:192.168.1.100
Broadcast: 192.168.1.255
Netmask: 255.255.255.0

Problem #1 : When I ping 192.168.1.50 from Meshlium through SSH, it doesn't work. Why? what am I doing wrong ?

Problem #2: External database is unable to connect to MySQL server which is no surprise if the network is not working.

Please let me know suggestions and answers.

Thanks,
