weird Technical downlink after SendUnConfirmed LoRaWAN

Post by Shakey7 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 7:16 pm

Hi All,

I use waspmote connected to Objenious Lorawan platform.
It works well in ABP and OTAA in both directions
BUT whatever I use SendConfirmed () or sendUnconfirmed() API on waspmote 1.5, the Lorawan platform server sends me back a TECHNICAL DOWNLINK ACK. I can see it in the OBjenious system dashboard. This normally should only appear in confirmed sending but not in unconfirmed, that's weird !!!
So could you tell me , if anyone has ever face this issue ? or do I miss something ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback

Bernie

Hi,

Do you refer that the server is sending a downlink message to the node? If the downlink is confirmed, the node will send a ACK although the node is configured to send unconfirmed (uplink) messages. The downlinks and uplinks can be configured in a different way.

Dear Tech Support,

I know well all what you said as response.
But maybe I was not clear enough.
The fact is that I call the SendUnconfirmed () API on the waspmote and the LoRAWAN BAckEnd send back a Technical Downlink (Not a Application Downlink). It seems that the BAckENd receives a Confirmed Uplink.

My question is : Do I miss something in the API parameters on Waspmote to avoid this Technical Downlink from the Backend ?
Thanx

Hi,

We think that it's an issue in Objenious platform. We have just performed a test using TTN and it doesn't send an ACK to the unconfirmed packets.

HI
thanks for your test
You're right , I got the confirmation from OBjenious, it's a "Technical Downlink" as they say, without any ACK Downlink, simply an event in the Objenious SPOT Platform.
By the way, I don't understand the reason.
