Connecting two batteries in parallel

Post by julienWeber » Mon Dec 11, 2017 5:19 pm

Dear Libelium,

We would like to have in our node twice the life time of our Waspmote (V1.5). Is-it possible to connect 2 same batteries 3.7V in parallel (fully charged) to get more norminal capacity?

Since they will be connected in parallel with the same voltage but the double of the capacity (6600*2 mA), is-there a problem with the load current with the IC power management from the waspmote?

Regards.

Hi Julien,

It should work but we have never tested to connect 2 of our batteries in parallel, we recommend to look for a battery with more capacity always paying attention to the power supply requirements of Waspmote,

Also you can take a look into our new external battery module to enlarge the battery life,
