Using 2 different backhaul links (4G & Ethernet)

Post by MaticS » Wed Mar 13, 2019 11:56 am

Hi there!

I have a question regarding configuration of Meshlium through 2 backhaul/uplink connections: Ethernet and 4G.

First, is it possible to have Meshlium connected over 2 links simultaneously (e.g. to have 2 external IPs over 2 links)?

Second, is it possible to bind an integration (for example MQTT) to a certain backhaul connection? Ideally, we would like to hook 2 integrations to 2 different links, e.g. one integration through 4G, and another integration through Ethernet.
Is this supported in any way?

Thank you...

Reading Meshlium documentation further, it seems to me that the default gateway of the whole Meshlium device is just one, therefore in case of successful 4G connection, it's the 4G link.

But what if the 4G link "falls" / is unavailable? Is in such case Meshlium "smart enough" to reconfigure it's uplink back to Ethernet?

In our case, that would do the job.

Hi,

Meshlium can connect over 2 links simultaneously. It can have an Ethernet IP and an 4G IP and you can access Meshlium over the two IP addresses.

Meshlium uses 4G network to send data and if it fails, it will use Ethernet automatically.
