Meshlium connection with waspmote over NBIOT

Post by eakaabr » Fri Jun 14, 2019 6:31 pm

Hi

I have some questions about network topology if we use Meshlium with waspmote nodes over NBIoT.

1) Can Meshlium connect with waspmote nodes using NBIOT network?
2) If yes, what connectivity option (4G, ethernet, NBIOT etc.) is available for Meshlium to connect with IoT platform in the backend?
3) What is the recommended network topology to use if our requirement is to use NBIoT network for smart environment pro devices and connect them to Ericsson DDM platform in the backend?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, the nodes can send data to Meshlium using the NB-IoT module. You can find the example codes to send data through HTTP and HTTPS in the following link
http://www.libelium.com/development/was ... n-examples

Meshlium can access to Internet through 4G and Ethernet, NB-IoT isn't available.

We always recommend using Meshlium as a gateway to send data from nodes to the Cloud since it is an easy way and we have tested it.

Thanks for the reply.
If we use ethernet or 4G network in Meshlium to send data to cloud, the IP address allocated to Meshlium from 4G or ethernet network will be the client IP to be used to send data to cloud.

What kind of network interface can we then use for Meshlium to act as a server in order to receive frames from Waspmote over NBIOT network? How do we allocate and configure the IP address/port and SSL on Meshlium to receive sensor data frames from waspmote over NBIOT?

Hi,

You need to set a static and public IP to Meshlium to be able to send data from the nb-iot to meshlium. If Meshlium is connected to Ethernet you need to configure the network to provide public access to the device. It is a network configuration that your IT department will be able to do. On the other hand, the sim card provider sometimes provides public and static IP and you could access directly to Meshlium using that IP.
