Smart Water Sensors to monitor water quality in rivers, lakes and the sea

Smart Water Sensors to monitor water quality in rivers, lakes and the sea

Libelium launched a Smart Water wireless sensor platform to simplify remote water quality monitoring. Equipped with multiple sensors that measure a dozen of the most relevant water quality parameters such as pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) conductivity (salinity), temperature and dissolved ions such as Ca2+, Cl-, I-. Waspmote Smart Water is the first water quality-sensing platform to feature autonomous nodes that connect to the Cloud for real-time water control.

Waspmote to prevent Forest Fires

Waspmote to prevent Forest Fires

Fires, both man-made and natural, contribute to forest loss. Last week more than 100 Forest Fires broke out in the eastern part of Russia's Siberia, affecting more than 57,000 hectares of land. Waspmote can be used to monitor different environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, CO, CO2 and many other gases. The monitoring of these parameters can be used to determine the areas where a forest fire is more likely to break out.

Australian researchers from Edith Cowan University's Centre for Communications Engineering Research have used Waspmote to test Wireless Sensor Networks for detecting and preventing Forest Fires in the future

Smart Cities platform from Libelium allows system integrators to monitor noise, pollution, structural health and waste management

Smart Cities platform from Libelium allows system integrators to monitor noise, pollution, structural health and waste management

Libelium, a technology leader in wireless sensor networks, announces the completion of its Smart Cities platform. A new sensor board measures noise pollution, dust quantities, structural health and garbage levels.

This board may be combined in a network with previously available sensor boards - for <a href=https://www.libelium.com/calibrated-air-quality-gas-dust-particle-matter-pm10-smart-cities/">gas monitoring, radiation detection and Smart Parking. System integrators can now create a comprehensive range of services based on the Smart Cities platform.

Monitoring indoor air quality with Waspmote to prevent accidents and improve production processes

Monitoring indoor air quality with Waspmote to prevent accidents and improve production processes

Many production processes in industry, agriculture, viticulture and livestock require specific environmental conditions to be monitored at all times. Sometimes the process can generate air pollutants that can be harmful and even deadly to workers in certain concentrations. The fact of having a monitoring system with Waspmote allows to control the parameters of a production process, send alerts via GPRS and even activate mechanisms through the relay actuator included in the prototype board.
